Music Production:
DJ Software:
For this project, I wanted to test some electronic music production software as an average consumer to see what I could accomplish as a first-time user. I figured that creating a 10 second track should be easy enough since I have a basic understanding of music theory and the software would help to generate any instrument I wanted. It was easy to create a base line using my keyboard, adjusting various knobs and dials to transform the noise into some pretty rad electronic tones. I quickly ran into a problem. I didn’t know how to record. That’s when I learned that making electronic music isn’t any easier than learning to play the guitar or the piano. The software doesn’t do all the work. It simplifies tasks, enabling patient individuals to learn and unleash their creative abilities. Electronic music production software is a tool that requires hours of discipline.
